1Defective/Damaged Product
By stella raposo
I first purchased the Tuk-Tuk diaper bag at a local baby store for a friend's baby shower and absolutely loved it at first glance. It has all the space you could ever need without looking like a diaper bag. It's somewhat heavy, but from my experience, most large diaper bags are heavy - at least this one doesn't come with baby pink elephants. When I was pregnant, I headed straight to Amazon to purchase the Tuk-Tuk (significantly cheaper than at my local store). I not only bought one for myself, but a third bag for my sister-in-law who was also pregnant at the time and took my diaper bag advice! I was very disappointed when only after a few weeks of using the bag, the zipper tags began falling off and/or bending. I promptly contacted Amazon, who referred me to the seller - Luggage pros, who referred me to Lug themselves. They claim a 100% satisfaction guarantee policy and they did promise twice to send me replacement zipper tags, but here we are 6 months later and still... no zipper tags.
Both the Tuk-Tuk bags I purchased online are defective... poor quality perhaps? For a little extra, I would get the ju-ju-be.

3From a mom of 3 perspective
By LovesFreeShipping
Please note that I am a soon-to-be mom of 3 under age 3, so writing from THAT perspective, the bag is a mix of subpar, average, and better than average qualities.
The average qualities (meaning what makes it like most diaper bags I've tried recently of this size):
It's got a fair-for-some-not-for-others amount of pockets, but their all tightly sized. I use playtex insulated sippy cups, and they are a VERY snug fit going into all the side and front pockets, and they're too tall for closing the nice magnetic pockets on the side.

On the inside, there are just two of the elastic-opening pockets (where most moms put diapers and wipes, which isn't ideal for a mom of 3 children under 3 (need 2 pockets for 2 in diapers and one for wipes, cream, etc). The inside elastic-opening pockets are tight as well. Five Luvs diapers size 3 in one pocket + a full pack of about 64 Pampers extra thick care wipes in the other one, were nearly stretching them to the limit and visibly stressing the seam that was sewn between the two. I actually wondered if that would be the first thing to rip over the next few months, because it looked just that stressed. To add to the stress on those two pockets they put in a smaller zipper pocket behind them, where I would normally put the little odor-eating plastic bags and some desitin/hand sanitizer, but that causes more of the busting-at-the-seams effect, because it's fighting for the same space as the camera/cell pocket and the diaper pockets!!!

It also offers a front middle zipper pocket that has two elastic-opening pockets inside, which presumably would make a good mommy pocket; but it doesn't have enough depth or height to set an organizer wallet in it (the 1.25"-thick kind that holds checkbook, kids pics, all credit cards, change purse, and coupons) and still actually use the elastic-opening pockets. The pocket may have worked well when I was a young adult with less responsibility and therefore a thinner, shorter wallet.

That last point I made is a point to be made about all but the three front pockets on this item, ESPECIALLY that mesh, breathable one in the back: THEY'RE ALL NOT DEEP ENOUGH! I'll never understand why companies continue to make diaper bags where the outside pockets always encroach on the space of the main compartment!!!!! I mean SERIOUSLY, when you put the provided diaper changing pad (nice item) into the only pocket on the front that it's clearly made to fit, it shoves into the pocket space designated for the diapers and wipes inside the main compartment (doesn't help that you have to fold the pad into thirds or fourths to make it fit either, but they should engineer the bag to ALLOW for that). And if you put anything in that mesh pocket on the back, it's blatantly cut to sit right inside the main compartment, which eats up the space you need for a diaper blowout back-up outfit and snacks/lunch (not all of us just stop at McDonald's while we're out. Some like to save money and pack healthy lunches or something) and a blanket and a breastfeeding cover! It's RETARDED AND FRUSTRATING!!! I could see how this would have worked, when I was a mom of 1 and I was packing for full days of daycare, but for an all-day bag for a mom of 3, this just ain't gonna cut it, when I want to hit the mall or go to the park and run some errands.

Now, to be fair, what makes the bag better than average is that it has a nice soft zipper pocket on the top right corner for a camera or cell and built-in padding in the shoulder handle. It also has a plastic, easy-wipe bottom, and the hardware is all metal for durability. On top of that, it's got some style and color options, which makes it a winner over the average $40 "organizing" diaper bags that I tried from local marts, which look like boring, black/gray luggage pieces all the time.

This has been quite a process, trying to find a 3-child + mommy pocket diaper bag. I've been trying to avoid spending $180 on the seemingly perfect Ju-Ju-Be Be Prepared Bag, but after trying a $30 Gerber bag with all the same problems as this one and 2 $40 bags with either cheap fabrics that rip easily or pockets that were too short to hold up anything, and now an $80 bag with more style but all the same problems as the $30 bag, I'm not sure how many more price brackets I feel like going through, before I just give up and spend the big bucks!!!
