The main bag is made of a sturdy thick leather. The strap to convert to a backpack is not. It is a thinner quality leather and when unzipped to form two straps each section of strap is very narrow. I don't think the straps could bear much weight and feel they could be cut quite easily. The installation of the zipper accessing the main compartment was not well thought out by the designer. It does not completely close. It appears that only one side of a zipper was used and was bent in half to form a complete zipper. There is only one small pocket inside the bag that could hold a cell phone but not much else. There are two exterior pockets, both shallow. One is big enough to hold a pair of glasses, the other covers the entire base of the bag and could be used to hold gloves and a thinish scarf. All that being said, I do like the look of the bag but it should be referred to as a handbag in the backpack style.
The seller contacted me and told me that hundreds and hundreds of these bags have been sold and I have been the only person to find fault with one.

Great quality purse. I have a variety of backpack purses to keep my hands free for my twins. I really like this one, but it's kind of hard to get into unless you unhook the latch.
